How To Check The Authenticity Of Pandora Charms Jewelry💍

Have you ever wondered if you are really purchasing authentic Pandora jewelry?  In this blog post I share with you how I discovered that my Pandora charms are authentic.

I purchased a charm from a company that assured me that they sold authentic Pandora Jewelry only to realized that it is not authentic.  I found this out after doing some research on Pandora's website.

Depending on the shape of the Pandora charm, most times there are markings at the bottom of the charm.  One of the markings that you will see on Pandora Jewelry charms is ALE.

The founder of Pandora Jewelry is Per Enevoldsen and his father' s name is Algot Enevoldsen.  So the word ALE derives from the founder father's name.

Another marking is S925S means that the jewelry is sterling silver and 925 means that the jewelry is 92.5% sterling silver.

If your charm has both these markings then it is an authentic Pandora charm.  If it only has S925 that means the charm is sterling silver and not authentic Pandora.

In this photo below the only markings that is on this charm is S925 and Pandora.  The ALE marking is not on the charm so I know the charm is not authentic Pandora charm.

Pandora Jewelry 2019 Club Charm

Pandora makes a club charm each year.  In 2019 I purchased my first club charm.  The charm is made of an almost exact replica of a treasure chest in rose gold.  It even has a lock in the shape of a heart.  In the center of the lock is a CC.  This is really a treasured piece.  The charm even has two hooks on the side of the treasure chest which allows it to be used as a pendant.

Using Pandora Cleaning Kit To Clean Pandora Jewelry

I purchased the Pandora jewelry cleaning kit which contains a soft tooth brush with the word PANDORA printed on the back of the brush, two Pandora cleaning cloths (one black and one white) and a Pandora Key chain.

Pandora Care and Cleaning Kit
Cleaning steps as recommended by Pandora:
Put a small bit of dish-washing liquid into a bowl and add a bit of lukewarm.  Put the pieces of Pandora jewelry that you want to clean into the bowl with the liquid and leave for a few minutes.

Pandora Care and Cleaning Kit
Remove the jewelry from the soapy water and gently brush with Pandora toothbrush.  Wash off the soap water and pat the Pandora jewelry dry.  For a final touch, polish the jewelry with the black polishing cloth - recommended by Pandora to clean sterling silver jewelry.  The white polishing cloth is recommended to polish Pandora rose gold jewelry.

What's On My Daughter's Pandora Jewelry Bracelet

My daughter expressed interest in getting her own Pandora jewelry bracelet so in one of Pandora annual sales I took the opportunity to get one as a free gift with a purchase of over one  hundred and twenty five dollars.  So I was eventually able to give her bracelet when I traveled to Trinidad and Tobago (my home country) around September 2017.

It was my intention to purchase a few charms to go with her new bracelet but I ended up giving her some of my charms.  The mother and son dangle is a heart charm in two pieces.  The inside of each piece is blue with the words printed MOTHER on one half and SON on the other half.

I gave my daughter the half labeled MOTHER and I kept the other side. I also gave her my booty dangle charm, which I purchased to commemorate my first grandson.

Pandora Sterling Silver Jewelry Maintenance/Cleaning Tips

The following tips were posted, by viewers, on my YouTube video about cleaning my Pandora jewelry with baking soda

Pandora jewelry doesn't rust unless it gets into water and not dried and polished afterwards in all crevices.

It's silver and tarnish's over time like any silver does. So this is normal if it's not being stored properly. You can invest in anti tarnish pouches.

Also Invest in a Pandora polishing cloth after cleaning your bracelet. It contains everything you need in the cloth (i.e. oils) so you add nothing. It brings it up brand new. Also remember to never wear it in a swimming pool or hot tub, in the shower to avoid chemicals and product build up and remove if you come in contact with other chemicals like fake tan, perfume.

This should be done with any jewelry but especially if you have any with gems and enamel (Until its dry on your skin) always dry and buff up afterwards.

The best way to clean Pandora Jewelry is just plain baby soap/baby shampoo and warm water, leave it over night and rinse that’s it. Now, I’ve seen you used baking soda and it worked but the thing is once there’s baking soda left on the spirals inside the charms, it can get stuck on the big threads due to left particles inside. When spiraled charms got stripped and won’t be able to pass on those big threads that’s when we cut the bracelet. Trust me, We’ve cut bracelets multiply times due to those😊. Don’t have it contact with other chemicals for they get tarnished real quick. Make sure to keep them in ziploc when not wearing.

How To Clean Pandora Jewelry At Home With Baking Soda💍 - Questions And Answers

Question #1:  How long should I leave my Pandora jewelry in the baking soda mixture?
Answer #1:  Leave your jewelry in the baking mixture for about one hour.

Question #2How often should I clean my Pandora jewelry with the baking soda mixture?
Answer #2:  Cleaning your Pandora jewelry all depends on how your jewelry is looking.  There is no time frame when you should clean your jewelry.

Question #3:  Why does the Pandora jewelry gets tarnish after maybe a few months?
Answer: #3I asked this question when I went to my local Pandora store and I was told that the box that you put your jewelry in, may cause this reaction.

Question #4:  Why should I clean my Pandora jewelry at home when I can take it to my Pandora store and the service is free?
Answer #4:  For many people their Pandora store is not very close to their homes so they are so happy to know that they can clean their jewelry at home for themselves with a method that is working and effective.  When you take your Pandora jewelry to your local Pandora store, you will have to wait a few hours before getting it back.  Also the arrangement of your charms may be different to the way you originally had it when it is returned to you.

Question #5:  Would the baking soda damage my Pandora jewelry?
Answer #5:  Baking soda is a mild and effective product.  I use this product to clean my face and teeth.  Therefore in my opinion it is great and safe to use on your Pandora jewelry.

Question #6:  How much baking soda and water should I use to make the mixture?
Answer #6: If you are cleaning just one bracelet, 1 teaspoon of baking soda and 1 tablespoon of water should do. Try not to have to mixture too runny.

Question #7:  What temperature should the water be? Answer #7:  When I first tried this tip, I used the water from my kitchen faucet which was at room temperature and I have been doing so ever since. Some people recommend using hot water - to be honest I don't particularly like the idea and have never tried it.  If you have, let me know and I will spread the word.

Question #8:  Can I use baking powder?
Answer #8:  No, baking powder doesn't have the same chemicals like baking soda to be a multi purpose cleaner.

Question #9:  Would the baking soda clean the rose gold and gold charms?
Answer #9:  Baking soda is a multi purpose cleaning soda and can be used to clean any precious metal.

Question #10:  Can I use any type of baking soda?
Answer #10:  Any brand of baking soda can be used.  As far as I know all baking soda brands are the same.

NOTE:  If you have a leather Pandora bracelet, remove all the charms from the bracelet and then proceed to clean them. Clean the clasp with extra caution.

Pandora Bow Bracelet Is Absolutely Amazing! I Have To Get One!

On March 1, 2017, I went to my local Pandora store with the intention to purchase one of the Blooming Dahlia pieces. This Pandora jewelry set consists of a dangle charm (which can also be used as a pendant), clip, ring and earrings.  I wanted to get either the earrings or the ring.

They had both of these in the store but I did not like how the ring (8 1/2) looked on finger and the earrings just did not do it for me.

The service rep provided me with an excellent service and I took the opportunity to tell her that.  I always get good service at the Pandora Store but this young lady provided an excellent service!  Her name is Kenisha.  Lovely name.  My daughter is pregnant and we are looking for names that start with the letter 'K' so I added this name to our list.

After checking out a few of the items that I might be interested in, I chose the above item - bow earrings which cost $60.00.  I really love them.

As I bought this item, the service rep showed me this other item, a bracelet with a bow at the top (see photo below).  I have never seen a bracelet like this before in the Pandora collection.  I have a bangle, bracelet and leather bracelet but never seen one like this. Maybe it is a newly produced item.  I love it and it cost$125.00!  I was blow away when I saw it and Kenisha encouraged me to try it on!  I asked her to take a photo for me!  See photo below!  Now I have to have it!

As I was taking notes on a piece of paper about the name of the bracelet and the cost for my next purchase, I just could not remember how to spell 'bow'!  LMAO!  I was so excited!!

The next Pandora special will be from March 23-26, 2017 - you get a free silver bracelet when you spend $125.00. It is my intention to get this bow bracelet and the free bracelet also the London Bus and Charles bridge for my travel charm collection.

Pandora Jewelry Haul 2017 | For My Pandora Travel Charm Collection

Today I went to my local Pandora store to purchase a few charms for my Pandora Jewelry charm travel collection.

I live in Tortola of the British Virgin Islands and my local Pandora Jewelry store is located in the Tortola Pier Park, Road Town, Tortola, of the Little Switzerland store.  It was a beautiful day so I decided to capture a footage of my trip to the store.

Tortola Pier Park is the area where the cruise ships dock so on that day, there was a cruise ship docked and there were quite a bit of people checking out the stores before going on their island tours.

When I arrived at the Pandora Jewelry counter, even though I knew that I was going to purchase some Pandora travel charms, I just could not remember which ones I wanted. Eventually the young lady who attended to me (who by the way was very patient with me) offered me the Pandora booklet so I can choose the ones I wanted.  That helped a great deal, right away I was able to easily make a selection.  I noticed that quite a few of the ones that I have on my wish list, were not available - maybe they were retired.

I chose the 'Travel Around The World' and 'Statue Of Liberty' charms - cost $40 and $45.00 respectively.

During the year (2016) I purchased two other charms 'Guardian Of Travel' with the words 'Saint Christopher Protect Me' at the back of the charm and 'Travel Awaits' which is charm that was designed into a passport.  This charm has the Pandora logo on the other side.

Using Baking Soda To Clean My Pandora Jewelry

Last year around this same time, I was about to put on my Pandora bangle bracelet and realized that it was tarnished!  The bangle bracelet was my first piece of Pandora jewelry that my son gifted to me a couple of years ago.  And I already had acquired a number of charms.  Alot of people would tell you that a Pandora jewelry collection could be a bit expensive.

The jewelry is available in sterling silver, gold, rose gold, sterling silver with bits of gold etc.  At this point I have only purchased the sterling silver Pandora Jewelry.  I have one leather bracelet that I received during one of Pandora's annual specials.

So you could understand when I got very upset to see that my Pandora jewelry was tarnished, to the point that I almost threw it away!  Then I thought about applying some baking soda on the jewelry. So I placed the Pandora bangle bracelet with the charms into a bowl and poured some baking soda (aka bicarbonate of soda) over it.  Then I mixed in some water to make a paste.  I rubbed the paste on the jewelry and left it for about 2 hours.

I then washed off the baking soda paste from the Pandora Jewelry and was amazed at how shiny it looked!  I was so happy!!  I am also grateful that I made an early decision to pull out my camcorder to record the event so my viewers could see the transformation!  That first video was not planned and was a bit unorganized so I recorded another one and explained what I was doing step by step.

I have received numerous comments on the first video from viewers reporting that they tried this tip and it has worked great for them.  Other people would tell you to take the jewelry to your local Pandora store to have your Pandora Jewelry cleaned.  Sometimes it's just more convenient to clean it yourself at home.  Note:  I tried cleaning the jewelry with dishing washing liquid but it left my jewelry looking dull.

Blog Name Changed To Pearlina1925 about my Natural Hair Growth and Pandora Jewelry Collection

Okay so I have changed the name of this blog again!!!  I have a related YouTube channel and the name was Beautiful Hair (or something like that).  On that channel I have also done a few videos about my Pandora Jewelry collection and a few beauty tips.  I have realized that the Pandora jewelry videos are more popular than my natural hair growth videos.  Then I realized that the content on the channel is not only about my natural hair growth journey and made a decision to change to name to Pearlina1925.

Why Pearlina1925?  Well I thought this would be a great opportunity to give a tribute to my mother whose first name is Pearl and since I keep forgetting which year she was born, I decided to combine her name with the year she was born so I would not forget.  Now my first name is Martina, as you may already know so I used the last three letters of my name and attached it to Pearl and walla!!!  Pearlina!!!  Pearlina1925!!!
